Job description

Come build what the market has been missing.
Octaura is a technology company transforming how some of the world's largest, least digitized markets operate. In loans and CLOs, trillions of dollars still move through phones, emails, and PDFs because the right infrastructure hasn't existed - until now.
We're applying AI, real-time data, and modern software design to asset classes long overlooked by fintech. Our platforms turn fragmented information into intelligence, manual workflows into automation, and legacy conventions into scalable market infrastructure.
You'll join a high-impact, collaborative team building the systems these markets need to become more transparent, efficient, and connected.
Time frame: June - August 2026
Location: NYC
Office Requirement: In office - Monday through Friday
It's time to transform markets
Existing workflows within syndicated loan and CLO markets are painful for clients: they are outdated, overcomplicated, and time-consuming. It's time for a change.
Octaura is reimagining the way these markets trade, with efficiency, transparency, and simplicity at the heart of what we do. We bring trading capabilities, data and analytics together for the first time on a digitized platform-fundamentally transforming the markets and streamlining workflows like never before.
At Octaura, everyone belongs
It's essential that Octaurians are confident in knowing they have the space to use their voice and talents. The world is diverse, and we actively want our team to reflect this. We're a values-driven company and by engaging, solving, and evolving together, we create a culture that is collaborative, transparent, impactful and innovative. And fun!
The Opportunity
Octaura offers exciting summer internship opportunities, especially for those interested in fintech and electronic trading. Jumpstart your career and your entrepreneurial endeavors with a dynamic and innovative company, where you'll be offered an exciting inside look at how a small business enterprise is run and managed, while learning about the industry and developing applicable and transferable skills to use in their professional career.
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic summer interns to join our data engineering team. An internship at Octaura provides an opportunity to acquire hands-on experience while contributing to meaningful projects that support our organization's goals. You will gain actionable skills and lessons, while getting involved with complex projects throughout the summer. You'll sit alongside experienced colleagues in our open floorplan, work closely with department heads, get facetime with C-suite leaders, interact with clients, and create industry relationships to grow your network.
As an intern on the data engineering team you will work directly with our senior data engineers, software engineers and data scientists to build and maintain the infrastructure and data pipelines that touch all parts of our company. In this role you'll assist with developing Python-based data workflows, supporting cloud-based data processing and storage while gaining hands-on experience with the latest in data engineering tools in a collaborative environment. Common technology that you will use includes Python, Spark, Redshift, Apache Airflow, Terraform and many other tools within the AWS Cloud. The ideal candidate has a computer science or related background, some experience using SQL and Python (or related language) as well as a strong interest in creating the data systems that power a customer-facing trading platform, internal business intelligence and our agentic AI systems in a very fast-paced startup environment.
The energy in the office is palpable, and employees look forward to coming to work each day. Our flexibility and flat structure will allow you to make life-long connections while diving head-first into the financial and technology industries.
