Job Summary

The Product Manager – Data is responsible for translating private credit market expertise into innovative data, analytics, and AI-driven software solutions. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and customers to define product requirements, prioritize features, and deliver solutions that address complex customer workflows. 

As an individual contributor, the Product Manager applies deep domain knowledge and analytical problem-solving skills to support the product lifecycle from discovery through delivery. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, customer focus, and the ability to balance business needs, technical considerations, and user experience to deliver measurable product value.


Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Discovery 

  • Translate customer workflows, business challenges, and market opportunities into well-defined product requirements and user stories. 
  • Conduct customer interviews, market research, and product discovery activities to validate opportunities and inform product direction. 
  • Contribute to product strategy by providing subject matter expertise on private credit, analytics, benchmarking, and AI-enabled capabilities. 
  • Prioritize product enhancements and feature development based on customer value, business objectives, and technical feasibility. 

Product Delivery & Execution 

  • Own product requirements throughout the development lifecycle, partnering with Engineering and Design to ensure successful solution delivery. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and support timely product releases. 
  • Monitor customer feedback and product performance to identify opportunities for continuous product improvement. 
  • Serve as the product subject matter expert for private credit workflows, ensuring solutions accurately reflect customer needs and industry best practices. 

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication 

  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to understand evolving business needs and product priorities. 
  • Communicate product requirements, priorities, and business context clearly to Engineering, Design, and cross-functional partners. 
  • Facilitate productive discussions that align customer needs with technical solutions and business objectives. 
  • Represent the voice of the customer throughout product planning and delivery activities. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong private credit domain expertise, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for solving customer problems through technology. This role is well-suited for someone early in their career who has developed a solid foundation in private credit or related financial markets and is interested in transitioning into product management. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Typically 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in investment analysis, credit analysis, portfolio management, leveraged finance, direct lending, fund finance, investment operations, financial technology, or a related field. 
  • Foundational experience in private credit, direct lending, leveraged finance, fund finance, portfolio management, credit underwriting, credit risk, investment operations, or a related financial services discipline. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into clear, structured requirements or recommendations. 
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical considerations. 
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in building software products that improve investment and operational workflows. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, Design, and business stakeholders. 
  • Customer-focused mindset with an eagerness to learn product management practices and contribute throughout the product development lifecycle. 

TECHNICAL & SYSTEMS PROFICIENCY 

Required: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for business analysis and communication. 
  • Familiarity with Agile product development concepts and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience with SQL or data analysis. 
  • Exposure to APIs, data products, analytics, or AI-enabled solutions. 
  • Experience with financial technology platforms such as Allvue, WSO, ClearPar, LoanIQ, Virtus, or similar investment management systems. 

Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • The target compensation for this role is specific to the US. Your estimated compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, licensures and/or certifications and the local market. The estimated range for the role is $160,000 - $180,000 plus a commission package
