Overview:

Quinnipiac University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Coach, Women's Softball. This position will assist in program management including coaching, administration, recruitment and coordination of a collegiate Women's Softball program.

The University is a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League (ECAC), the Metro Conference, the Northeast Conference (NEC) , and is an NCAA Division I member sponsoring 22 varsity sports.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA and Conference regulations
  • Coach student-athletes during team practices as well as home and away contests
  • Primarily responsible for the instruction of position specific skills
  • Assist with recruiting (on and off campus as assigned), scheduling, budget administration and team promotion
  • Assist in the future development of Women's Softball alumni and community relations
  • Assist the Head Coach with daily/weekly/seasonal practice planning
  • Assist with team travel, scheduling and budgeting
  • Assist with fundraising
  • Assist with game and practice film edits
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in softball required
  • Softball skills required
  • Effective oral and written communication skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage a 2-3 hour practice
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion
