Job description

Position Summary:

The Senior Workday HRIS Analyst will support the design, configuration, and administration of TDECU's Workday Human resources Information System (HRIS). This individual will serve as a subject matter expert in business process management, report writing, data management, data extraction and act as an integration liaison between vendors and IT.

The role collaborates with all areas of People Services (HR Business Partners, People Development, Recruiting, and Total Rewards including Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll) to analyze and document current processes and procedures with a consultative approach to improve the efficiency of the business within Workday. The role will participate in the Workday Community and inform users about the latest enhancements for future releases accordingly. This position plays a critical role of optimizing how we use Workday, exceed our user expectations and drive business outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with the key internal and external teams to gather input on potential system changes and communicate the change impacts. Identify the communication of changes and benefits to end users required to support changes. Configure and implement business process upgrades and enhancements. Create, review and participate in functional testing for all system fixes, upgrades, patches, and other maintenance-including bi-annual Workday releases and new system features.

Stay up-to-date with the latest Workday releases and provide suggestions around use cases accordingly. Partner with all areas of People Services team to create, edit and prepare reports and end-user dashboards. Document and maintain a repository of current business processes and standard operating procedures. Build and sustain a comprehensive network of internal and external relationships to provide continuous feedback, ideas, and information about trends and leading practices.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the Workday Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring system performance, reliability, and alignment with business needs.

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday business processes, security roles, notifications, validations, calculated fields, and system settings.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement system enhancements that improve operational efficiency, automation, and user experience.

  • Manage Workday releases by performing impact analysis, coordinating testing, deploying updates, and communicating system changes to stakeholders.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, scorecards, and calculated fields to support business operations and strategic decision-making.

  • Partner with Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, IT, and organizational leadership to deliver workforce analytics, operational reporting, and system solutions.

  • Monitor and audit HR data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and data governance standards.

  • Analyze data trends, identify root causes of system or data issues, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.

  • Administer Workday security roles, domains, and permissions while conducting periodic security audits and maintaining appropriate system access.

  • Support and troubleshoot Workday integrations, Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs), Core Connectors, and third-party system interfaces.

  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, IT teams, and business partners to resolve complex technical issues and implement new functionality.

  • Lead small to medium-sized HRIS projects, support enterprise-wide technology initiatives, and participate in Workday implementation, optimization, and expansion efforts.

  • Develop and maintain system documentation, configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and training materials.

  • Provide guidance and training to HR team members while serving as a trusted resource for Workday best practices and HR technology initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

(Education, Licensure, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Information Technology with at least three to five years of using HR systems.

Equivalent combination of education and work experience is also considered.

Licensure / Certifications:

Workday Pro Certification Preferred

Experience:

  • Four to Five years of experience in with Workday HRIS

  • 5+ Years of Workday experience within HCM, Benefits, Compensation, and Absence Configuration required. Workday Payroll experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong experience supporting and understanding Workday HCM, Absence/Time Tracking, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Recruiting, LMS, and PEX modules work together.

  • General understanding of interfaces with 3rd party platforms/vendors.

  • Experience developing advanced Workday reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and analytics.

  • Experience configuring Workday business processes, security roles, domains, and permissions.

  • Experience supporting Workday integrations, Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs), Core Connectors, and Workday Studio preferred.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Experience supporting HR and payroll operations preferred.

  • Experience leading Workday implementations, system optimizations, or major enhancement projects preferred.

    Workday Pro certifications are highly preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.

  • Strong accountability and attention to detail.
