Job description

We're on a mission to build the best platform in the world for engineers to understand and scale their systems, applications, and teams. We operate at high scale-trillions of data points per day-allowing for seamless collaboration and problem-solving among Dev, Ops and Security teams globally for tens of thousands of companies. Our engineering culture values pragmatism, honesty, and simplicity to solve hard problems the right way.

The Team:

As organizations rapidly invest in AI applications and build out AI labs, telemetry volumes are growing exponentially and costs are becoming unpredictable. From LLM interactions to agentic workflows, AI systems generate unpredictable streams of logs, driving up costs and making it harder to maintain efficient observability. These challenges are critical for organizations in regulated industries with strict data residency requirements, where data must remain within controlled environments. Datadog's Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) team is reimagining what observability and security look like at petabyte scale in the AI era.

The Opportunity:

The Group Product Manager - Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) role is responsible for defining and bringing to market the next generation of telemetry analytics and insights capabilities in an AI-first environment. This role is highly technical and creative in nature as you will envision novel ways to enable customers to cost-effectively explore, analyze and report over petabytes of data through a welcoming and easy-to-use interface. You will partner with various teams to take advantage of BitsAI capabilities and surface critical insights on volume usage and retention for popular use cases.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and grow a team of product managers focused on Datadog's BYOC Program
  • Define the vision, strategy, and product roadmap for BYOC and make it immediately valuable to customers in an AI-first environment
  • Gather insights from customers, partners, and internal data to become an expert on how customers want to store, analyze, and report on data for long term needs
  • Work closely with Datadog's BYOC, Log Management, BitsAI, and Platform teams to identify opportunities and build ingest, index and search capabilities for petabyte scale
  • Make it easy for customers to onboard new workloads and products within Datadog onto the BYOC platform
  • Recommend and launch new offerings with BYOC based on use cases for Security and Compliance
  • Partner with Marketing and other GTM teams to generate awareness and drive adoption of Datadog's BYOC offering
  • Present to leading industry experts and analysts such as Gartner, Forrester and IDC to influence the market research teams and solicit feedback to guide roadmap
  • Guide Product Solution Architects to build pre-validated architectures on getting started with BYOC for specific use cases and industry verticals

Who You Are:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in B2B SaaS Product Management, including 2+ years managing other product managers
  • At least 3+ years of experience with databases, data warehouses, SQL concepts & language, BI products, and/or distributed systems
  • Hands on experience using multiple services from one or more of the major cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Demonstrated track record of working with executives and engineers alike
  • Prior experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Splunk, or ClickHouse is a strong plus
  • MBA is a strong plus

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We know not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your experience, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits & Growth:

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Intra-departmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
  • Free, global Spring Health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
  • Competitive global benefits

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
