Job description

TheSales Engineerwill be involved in allfacetsof the sales process, including prospecting, relationship development, value determination through problem/need identification, costing, quoting, and account management. This position requires a strong combination of technical and commercialexpertise. The successful candidate will be expected to discuss commercial issues as well as technical issues and solutions with engineering teams. The Sales Engineer will prospect by reaching out to lead engineers andpurchasingpersonnel and help them evaluate how Greystone’s specialized plating capabilities can be designed into their products. The individual will also help develop product and market strategies andidentifyopportunities for Greystone to develop differentiated products.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Science, or another technical discipline.
  • Strong prospecting and business development experience.
  • Previousbusiness-to-business sales experience desired.
  • Desire to solve problems while working with customers and internal stakeholders is essential.
  • Sales budgeting and cost analysis skills arerequired.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Identifypotential customers and develop new business opportunities.
  • Manage several existing accounts for automotive and industrial products.
  • Assess potential markets and product niches to define profitable growth opportunities.
  • Conduct face-to-face interactions with all levels of customer staff, from Design, Engineering, and Purchasing to Executive Leadership.
  • Work with Greystone engineering and operations teams to develop cost estimates and generate pricing proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Interact with Executive Management during strategic planning sessions.
  • Position requires up to 30% travel within North America, with possible periodic travel to Asia and Europe.
Required Skills
  • Strong ability to negotiate deals from start to finish.
  • Excellent networking skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience.
  • Project management skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience setting up andexhibitingat trade shows.
  • Internal sales skills, including working with spreadsheets, cost analyses, and suppliers.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Project.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Experience & Skills
  • Experience selling a new product or service.
  • Experience and industry contacts within the plating/finishing market.
  • Three or more years of experience working with Automotive OEMs and Tier I suppliers.
  • Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering background and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Solid understanding of business and financial fundamentals.
