Job description


Location: HQ - Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Status: Full-time/100% on-site
Compensation: $100,000-$135,000 annually

Position Summary: The Senior Manager of Compliance is responsible for leading and executing global compliance programs across Kith's apparel, accessories, and lifestyle product categories, including men's, women's, kids, and babies. This role ensures all products and materials meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards across global markets while supporting Kith's fast-paced product drops and collaborations. The position partners closely with Product Development, Production, Materials, and external partners to embed compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product safety & regulatory compliance

  • Ensure compliance with global regulations including CPSIA, Canada SOR, EN 71, EU Product Passports, REACH, Prop 65, and other applicable standards.
  • Oversee category-specific requirements (regulatory and quality) for kids and baby products (flammability, lead, small parts, CPCs, ACE).
  • Manage testing programs for apparel, accessories (e.g., hats, bags, jewelry), and lifestyle products (e.g., homegoods, drinkware).
  • Partner with labs and vendors to ensure timely testing and certification.
  • Maintain and enforce RSL/MRSL aligned with industry standards (e.g., AFIRM)
  • Evaluate risk for new product categories introduced through collaborations.
  • Policy Development: Develop, update, and enforce compliance policies and procedures.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all relevant local, national, and international laws and regulations.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present compliance reports for senior management.
  • Partner with the PD and Production Dept. to ensure Kith Manuals/SOPs are up to date for both internal and external partners.
  • Ensure all Kith partners/suppliers are adhering to our NDA requirements and ensure the Kith brand is not damaged.
Social & ethical compliance
  • Manage factory audits (BSCI, SMETA, WRAP).
  • Ensure vendor onboarding meets Kith standards.
  • Oversee corrective action plans and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance across licensees and collaborators.
  • Experience with Large Retail licensing portals (Disney Compass, Brand Manager, Brand Comply, etc)
Cross-functional partnership
  • Partner with Product Development and Production to embed compliance early.
  • Support SOP updates and internal guidelines.
  • Align with Legal and Quality teams.
Training & continuous improvement
  • Deliver training to internal teams and vendors.
  • Drive improvements based on testing and audit data.
  • Issue chargebacks as necessary

KPIs / Success Metrics

  • % of products passing testing on first submission
  • Reduction in product compliance failures and recalls
  • On-time testing and certification completion rate
  • Factory audit pass rates and CAP closure timelines
  • Vendor compliance onboarding success rate
  • Reduction in chemical/RSL violations
  • Speed to market without compliance delays
  • Compliance coverage across all collaborations

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Textiles, Law, or related field
  • 6-8+ years in apparel or consumer goods compliance
  • Strong knowledge of CPSIA, REACH, Prop 65, and testing standards
  • Experience with kids/baby, accessories and lifestyle product compliance preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
