The Job in a Nutshell:

The Senior Marketing Analyst is responsible for leading the measurement, analysis, and optimization of Natural Grocers' marketing initiatives, customer loyalty programs, digital experiences, and promotional strategies. This role partners closely with Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, E-Commerce, and Executive Leadership to transform data into actionable business insights that drive customer acquisition, retention, engagement, and sales growth.

The Senior Marketing Analyst serves as the primary analytics leader for the Marketing department and oversees the development of reporting frameworks, experimentation strategies, customer insights, forecasting models, and performance measurement systems. This role combines strategic thinking, advanced analytics, and strong business acumen to support data-driven decision making across the organization.

  • Lead the development, maintenance and execution of marketing measurement strategies that evaluate campaign effectiveness, customer engagement, sales impact, and return on investment.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations for executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Identify customer, market, and competitive trends to uncover opportunities for growth and marketing innovation.
  • Reporting & Insights
  • Develop, automate, and maintain reporting systems and dashboards that provide timely, accurate, and actionable insight into marketing performance.
  • Manage ad hoc analyses, executive requests, and strategic projects that support organizational priorities.
  • Ensure data integrity through quality assurance processes, validation against source systems, and cross-functional collaboration with data owners.
  • Advanced Analytics & Modeling
  • Apply statistical and predictive modeling techniques to evaluate customer behavior, campaign performance, and business opportunities.
  • Maintain and improve upon customer segmentation, targeting, retention, and loyalty analytics to improve customer engagement and lifetime value.
  • Conduct analyses to identify drivers of customer acquisition, retention, churn, and store-level performance.
  • Testing & Optimization
  • Design, implement, and evaluate controlled experiments, A/B tests, and pilot programs to measure marketing effectiveness and incremental business impact.
  • Develop testing frameworks and measurement standards to improve marketing ROI and support continuous optimization.
  • Partner with stakeholders to implement data-driven recommendations and monitor results.
  • Loyalty & Digital Experience
  • Lead analytics and reporting for the {N}power Rewards Program, including monthly reports on customer behavior, engagement, promotional effectiveness, and program performance.
  • Develop measurement strategies to optimize the Natural Grocers mobile application, digital communications, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Evaluate promotional pricing, loyalty offers, and personalization strategies to maximize customer value and business performance.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as the marketing analytics subject matter expert and educate stakeholders on analytical best practices.
  • Mentor analysts and support the development of analytical capabilities across the organization.
  • Collaborate with analytics, marketing, operations, purchasing, and technology teams to establish scalable data solutions and business intelligence initiatives.

  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Marketing, Business, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, marketing analytics, business intelligence, or related fields.
  • Experience in retail, loyalty, e-commerce, or customer analytics preferred.
  • Technical Skills
  • SQL proficiency.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent visualization platforms.
  • Experience using R, Python, or equivalent statistical software.
  • Familiarity with Databricks, cloud analytics environments, or modern data platforms.
  • Knowledge of statistical testing, experimentation, forecasting, predictive modeling, and causal inference methodologies.
  • Business Skills
  • Strong understanding of marketing measurement, customer behavior, and loyalty programs.
  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving capabilities.
