Job description

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary
St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, a vibrant Catholic parish committed to evangelization and community outreach, is seeking a creative and mission-driven Communications Coordinator. This position is responsible for managing all internal and external parish communications to ensure clear, consistent, and engaging messaging that reflects the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage all parish communications, including weekylbulletins, newsletters, emails, website content, and social media.
  • Collaborate with parish ministries, school staff (if applicable), and leadership to promote events, initiatives, and parish life.
  • Maintain and update the parish website with accurate and timely information
  • Create digital and print mateirals such as flyers, posters, and graphics for liturgies, programs, and community events.
  • Manage parish social media platform (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Youtube) in a way that reflects Catholic valies and fosters online engagement.
  • Assist with live-streaming or recordings of Masses, special events, or messages from the pastor.
  • Ensure all communication aligns with Church teachings and the mission of the parish.
  • Track communications performance (email open rates, social media engagement) and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Support crisis communication needs as directed by the pastor or diocesan guidelines.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field perferred.
  • Experience in communications, public relations, or parish ministry.
  • Proficiency in communication tools (email platforms, CMS, social media, Canva, Adobe, etc.).
  • Strong writing, editing, and design skills with attention to tone and theological accuracy.
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing who understands and supports the mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
