- Drive all aspects of regulatory compliance through permitting, equipment design and testing, hazardous materials handling, and other safety-focused design considerations with a forward looking, risk mitigation mentality.
- Partner on a global level within the Global Engineering team, and alongside local Factory Operations Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Program Management, and third party support to ensure the relevant expertise is employed in defining, planning, and executing projects across various timescales.
- Lead cross functional team meetings, facilitate communication up down and across, work with managers to address bottlenecks and resource balancing issues
- Mentor junior project managers on best practices and support development of improved internal methods and tools for executing factory expansion.
- BS degree in an Engineering discipline or other related applied technical field; PMP certification is a plus.
- 8+ years’ experience capital project management in a chemical products industry, including planning, negotiating resources, driving multiple complex projects forward concurrently, leading cross functional teams without direct line management authority.
- Experience in management of factory construction and startup. Thoroughly capable of standard project management software, tools, and methods. Experience with hazardous materials factory buildouts or expansions is desired.
- Extensive knowledge of project management strategies, tools, and operational approaches to appropriately guide both short- and long-term projects, including projects requiring macro- and micro-scheduling of tasks, internal and external.
- Knowledgeable of various regulatory requirements: hazardous materials and air quality permitting, construction and building permitting, environmental regulations, UL or other electrical standards, fire code, sufficient to drive compliance with the assistance of expert consultants.
- Bottom-line oriented, an assertive and resilient team player able to operate within a high-performance cross-cultural team.
- Confident and purposeful approach, paired with strong communication skills and social skills.
- Critically fixated on scope, schedule, and spend adherence.
- Approximate frequency of travel expected to be up to 20%, primarily domestic. Some work outside of standard business hours is expected to support Global teams.
