POSITION PROFILE

Interact with guests and ensure guests have a great experience when dining and meeting at the property. Be responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Expected to be attentive to guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed, at all times.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Check server's and house person's BEOs to ensure that all information is accurate.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room is set as contracted.
  • Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be provided.
  • Be in communication with the Banquet Captain/ Lead Server in regard to any special needs.
  • Set tables, glassware, flatware and silver ware per dining rules and specification.
  • Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the policies/procedures regarding the service of food and beverage.
  • Keep station neat and clean while servicing guest per established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling guest's needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
  • Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
  • Assist Lead Banquet Server in setting up/breaking down buffet or other special food service tables, stations, and equipment.
  • Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures when serving a-la-carte and food and beverage.
  • Complete assigned side work

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Three - Six months experience in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
  • Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer print outs, written instructions and to observe entire restaurant in dimly lit conditions.
  • Must be TIPs certified.
  • Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages.
  • Able to read, speak and understand English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs.
  • Stand continuously for long periods of time.
  • Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
