Summary:
Lead the operations for 1000t press by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Have the ability to correctly perform tooling set up.
- Ability to trouble shoot electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues without supervision.
- Assign personnel to set-up and operate stamping press based on training and skill set.
- Achieve quality targets by establishing and enforcing standardized work and quality procedures
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all PPE, safety equipment and safety procedures
- Oversee, training and coaching employees. Crosstrain press production personnel to perform all press related operations
- Identify issues in efficiency, suggest and implement improvements and cost saving measures
- Have the ability to calibrate the press transfers and Saronni straightener rolls
- Identify tooling issues and communicate that information to the tooling department.
- Establish priorities, monitor progress and adjust operation as required to meet target
- Promotes team work through facilitating effective communication between press team and tooling technicians
- Assist in setting up and adjusting a wide variety of machines and equipment
- Direct all Fork lift activities at the press and tooling department
- Ability to trouble shoot electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues with minimal supervision.
- Inventory consumables for the press. Report findings to the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports directly to the responsible Production Press Supervisor and works directly with
the staff in the Production department.
COMPETENCIES / EXPERIANCE:
- Solid understanding of standardized work methods in the automotive environment
- Understanding of quality systems regarding IATF 16949, manufacturing processes
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Manufacturing experience needed (2 Years minimum)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Physical, etc.):
- Must be able to work weekends and rotating shifts.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must be able to be on feet for 8 hours or more.
