Product & Service Quality Manager - T-7
Company:

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a First Line Product & Service Quality Manager to support the T-7 Quality team at Edwards Air Force Base, CA!
This role supervises, leads, and coaches a multi-disciplined team of Quality Operations personnel (CBU) employees in the oversight of product and process integrity on the Flight Ramp. Effectively interfaces and communicates with employees, peers, production operations, integrated product teams, and external customers (DCMA) to ensure products, services and processes comply with engineering / contractual requirements, company procedures, and government regulations.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Manages employees who evaluate and ensure that products, services and processes comply with customer contract requirements, engineering requirements, company procedures and government regulations.
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies to improve performance.
  • Provides education and coaching on the Quality System.
  • May make airworthiness determinations on behalf of the company and regulatory agencies.
  • Acquires and manages resources and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

This position will manage employees responsible for:
  • Aircraft flight releases open item reconciliation and US red X sign off authority
  • Initiates, prepares, and maintains aircraft logbooks per requirements
  • Tracks Inspections and Life Limited parts in accordance with applicable service guidance
  • Prepares aircraft inventory records, reviews technical directives and initiates appropriate action to ensure all required changes, inspections have been accomplished and documented
  • Ensures appropriate aircraft and technical directive records are maintained
  • Maintains a log of aircraft and engine flight hours and landings
  • Enters flight discrepancies into Aircraft Flight Reporting System (AFRS)
  • Performs Engine Accounting functions per requirements
  • Maintains CAD/PAD records per government requirements
  • Demonstrates knowledge of technical orders and technical publications
  • Maintains aircraft build records in accordance with Records & Information Management requirement
  • Reviews / writes internal company processes (BPI's) and recommends process improvements

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A Final U.S. Secret clearance Prestart is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross-functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
  • 3+ years of experience in root cause analysis and corrective action
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or program management functional positions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with USAF processes, flight release, and 781 forms
  • Experience with Flight Line operational experience in the areas of Pre-Flight/Post Flight/Aircraft Release procedures in the support of customer focused flight testing
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a business or technical field
  • Experience interfacing with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
  • Executive level communication skills
  • Six sigma education and application
