We are seeking a Document Control Specialist at our Elk Grove Village facility reporting to our Quality Systems Manager. As our Document Control Specialist, you will be responsible for managing quality records to ensure compliance with USDA, FSMA, and customer requirements. Key responsibilities include supporting HACCP compliance, maintaining Quality System standards, and overseeing customer complaint management.

What you will doโ€ฆ
  • Perform daily audits of Operations and Quality documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and full alignment with USDA, internal, and customer standards.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer information requests and portal management, including providing timely responses to quality complaints.
  • Follow up, review, coordinate, and record/summarize all process deviations for Grecian Delight Kronos.
  • Serve as the lead administrator for document management systems like IFS, Redzone, and FoodLogiq.
  • Assure daily compliance monitoring of formulations, work procedures, traceability, HACCP/Regulatory, documentation, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate lot traceability and mock recalls for ingredients, packaging, and finished products to evaluate system effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with departments (Sales, Ops, R&D) to update product specifications and manage the HOLD and vendor management processes.
  • Ensures strict adherence to safety, biosecurity, and facility security procedures.
  • Manage department manuals and administrative tasks; interpret scientific/legal documents using statistical and mathematical analysis.
What you will bringโ€ฆ
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Proven background in document control process mandatory.
  • 3+ years in food manufacturing with a mandatory background in document control.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FDA, and USDA regulations.
  • Proficient in applying statistics, ratios, and basic financial concepts to business strategy.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio and Outlook.

Base Salary:

$75,000 - $85,000 annually, plus eligibility for a 5% annual performance bonus.
