Job description

Under the administrative supervision of theExecutive Director of Clinical Services,theAdolescent Treatment Managerisresponsible fortheadolescentprograms and services offered by the agency.He/she shall also provide administrative and clinical supervision to all counseling, case management and support staff assigned to theadolescentresidential and outpatient treatmentprograms.TheAdolescent Treatment Managershalloperatein accordance withthe policiesdeterminedby the Board of Directors and shall abide by all applicable federal,stateand local regulations.

1. Supervision of the clinical, case management and support staff at the designatedprogramlocation(s).

2. Responsible forassistingin the development of treatment curricula and ensures implementation of same within the designatedcomponent(s).Approves all modificationsinthe curricula through theExecutive Director of Clinical Services.

3. Responsible for ensuring theprograms assigned to their care and oversight employ theproper cognitive model.Somecurricula or therapeutic approaches might include but not be limited to: "Matrix Modelfor Teens and Young Adults","DBT","Expressive Therapy",Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy, Candis, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Contingency Management. Thiswouldalsoinclude an eclectic blend of traditional treatment methodologies such as reality therapy, bibliotherapy, rational-emotive therapy, self-help strategies, behavior modification, and level systems, etc... along with other "cutting edge" approachesas they may appear in the literature or scientific research.

4. Administer thedailyoperations of the Mirror program or programs assigned to their care.

5. Recruit, recommend for hire and evaluate staff assigned to their designated program or programs.(Please note:Managersshould consult withtheExecutiveDirector of Human Resources& Complianceonoffers of employment,disciplinary issueswithstaff andany recommendation that involvesterminationof a Mirror employee.Terminations should be carefully documented and thensubmittedfor approvalto theExecutiveDirector of Human Resources&Compliance.)

6. Assists with the continuing education needs of staff through coordination or delivery of in-service units or initial

approval of workshop hours.Oversight of annual in-service staff trainingfor the staff they supervise.Implement training specific to adolescent treatment services.

7. Approves allresidentialadmissionsand dischargesand monitorscensus/utilizationin all programs they oversee. Oversees the internalutilizationreview process for their assigned programs.Assiststhe Vice-President ofTreatmentOperationswith the tracking ofclients forthe programs theymanage.

8. Assistwith the determination of staff assignments as to their assigned modality and anysubsequentcaseload considerations.Assistwith the development of the facility or program schedule and rotation of the on-call list.

9. Ensures conformity tofunding authority, licensing authority,and contractual agreement standards.(Pleasenote:includesbut is not limited toKDADS,DCF,BOP, KDOC, KSCor USPO).

10. Responsible for (or oversight of) the approval ofallparticipantrelated paperwork (i.e., treatment plans, case management plans, discharge summaries, etc...) within their assigned program(s).

11. Responsible for coverage issues of staff assigned to their program(s).

12. Clinical observation of counseling and case management activities and provides any consultative duties with staff asrequired.

13. Manage a case load and perform facility intakes.

14. Available on-call basis for the programs they oversee.

15. Handles crisis situations when on-call staffisnot available or skilled enough tomanage the situation.

16. Responsible for performing any other responsibilities assigned by his/her supervisors.

1.Graduate of afour-yearaccredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, substance abusecounselingor a closely related field.Master's degree matching one of theaforementioned disciplinesis desirable.

2. Minimum ofone-yearpaid experience providingsupervisory oversight for a human services provider.

3. Master's level licensure in social work, professional counseling, oraddictioncounselingsuch as LMSW, LMAC, or LPC.Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) in the State of Kansas is preferred..

4. Demonstratedability in the use of the DSM V and the ASAM criteria. Experience and certification in the use of the ASI, SASSI, and Provider Connect is preferred.

5. Ability to gather and understand program evaluation data and design.

6. Excellent interpersonal skills required as well as ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

7. Demonstratedability to effectively supervise the work of others.

8. Demonstratedability to prioritize and work with multiple tasks.

9. Must be adaptable to change and have effective organizational skills.

10. Must be able to work in concert and in collaboration with the President/CEO and other agency Vice Presidents.

11. Must be able to passagency authorizedsecurityand backgroundchecks.

12. Employeeswho have been diagnosed with any type of substance use disordermust have a minimum of two consecutive years ofsustained recovery fromtheir chemicaladdiction; and must be infull remission.

13. Must be proficient incomputer skills and/or experience or skills with an Electronic Health Record.

14. Physical requirementswould includebut not limitedtostanding, walking, talking,hearingand lifting (40/50 pounds).Walking stairs may be required as well.Be able tooperatea motor vehicle (Class C license).
