Zymeworks is a global biotechnology company managing a portfolio of licensed healthcare assets and developing a diverse pipeline of novel, multifunctional biotherapeutics to improve the standard of care for difficult-to-treat diseases, including cancer, inflammation, and autoimmune disease. The Company's asset and royalty aggregation strategy focuses on optimizing positive future cash flows from an emerging portfolio of licensed products such as Ziihera® (zanidatamab-hrii) and other licensed products and product candidates such as pasritamig. In addition, Zymeworks is also building a portfolio of healthcare assets that can generate strong cash flows, while supporting the early-stage development of innovative medicines. We are a global company headquartered in Vancouver BC, with operations in Bellevue WA, Dublin IRE, and Singapore.

This role will be located in New York, USA and is remote.
What You'll Do
  • Perform financial analysis to support the investment process through company- and asset-specific modeling, including the building and maintenance of drug forecasts, operating company models, and royalty monetization and structured investment models.
  • Support the due diligence process by conducting primary research and secondary research through interviews with physician key opinion leaders and consultants and evaluation and review of clinical data, commercial planning materials, competitive landscapes, and other technical diligence areas (IP, manufacturing, payor/market access, legal).
  • Coordinate with relevant cross-functional internal teams as needed to support transaction execution.
  • Prepare high-quality presentation materials including investment presentations and opportunity assessments to support the Investment team in internal reviews and Board-level communications.
  • Manage the investment pipeline to ensure updated record keeping and status tracking of all potential investment opportunities evaluated by the team.
  • Monitor the broader competitive landscape, including deal activity and emerging trends, with regular communications to the Investment team.
  • Take on additional project-based responsibilities as directed to support the growth and effectiveness of the company's investment function.

What You'll Bring
  • 2 - 5 years of work experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, corporate development, or a comparable role within the life sciences industry with demonstrated deal or project-based accomplishments.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a life science field required with a track record of strong academic performance.
  • Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Intellectual curiosity with an interest in biotechnology, drug development, and investing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information.
  • Robust project management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with the ability to synthesize large volumes of scientific, financial, and market data into actionable insights.
  • Adherence to the highest levels of integrity.

The base salary range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the location for which the job is posted and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by a variety of factors and the salary offered may vary depending on the successful candidate's location and qualifications (including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, education, training, skills, and experience).
