Role Description The Dunbar Restaurant General Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership role based at The Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC. This position oversees daily restaurant operations, ensuring high standards of service, food quality, and guest satisfaction. The General Manager leads and coaches the front-of-house team, partners closely with the culinary team, and maintains a strong presence on the floor to engage guests and support associates. Key responsibilities include managing staffing levels and scheduling, overseeing training and performance, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and brand standards. The role also involves managing budgets, monitoring P&L performance, controlling costs, supporting marketing and promotional initiatives, and collaborating with hotel leadership to align the restaurant with overall property goals.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability in P&L Management and Budgeting, including forecasting, cost control, and revenue optimization.
- Strong focus on Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a track record of maintaining high guest experience standards.
- Experience in Hiring, onboarding, and developing restaurant or hospitality teams.
- Previous restaurant general manager or senior restaurant leadership experience, preferably in an upscale or luxury environment.
- Proven leadership, team-building, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Solid knowledge of food and beverage operations, health and safety regulations, and service best practices.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
