Job description

Hoover Architectural Products has been providing South Florida with custom awning and metal structures for their homes and businesses for over 70 years and is looking for a full time Lead Awning Installer to join our team!

Requirements:

We are looking for someone that has the desire to produce an outstanding product, understands how to safely make decisions and how to deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction.

  • Maintains High Level of Quality Work
  • Ensures that each job is completed according to plan
  • Ensures that materials for each job are organized, maintained and void of any possible issues
  • Ensures that the job site is well maintained left in an acceptable condition at the end of the day
  • Ensures work vehicle is kept clean and organized

Supports Profitability

  • Operates with a sense of urgency to minimize wasted time
  • Uses care when handling product to minimize damage
  • Keeps equipment organized to facilitate job performance

Outstanding Communication Skills

  • Communicates with customers to ensure that they are satisfied with their product
  • Communicates with Director of Operations to ensure understanding of the job plan and to report any issues encountered

Provides Leadership

  • Leads by positive example
  • Team player who takes pride in their work and is eager to learn
  • Self directed, when needed
  • Responsible and punctual
  • Ensures safety is the top priority for all of Hoover's employees and must have (but not limited to) working knowledge following areas of safety:
  • Emergency action plans
  • Work surfaces
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Machine guarding
  • Fall arrest/harness systems
  • Material handling

Minimum Qualifications that include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ability to install steel and aluminum structures, fabric awnings, tension structures, mechanical curtain systems, drapes, retractable awnings, shade structures
  • Knowledge in reading a tape measure
  • Basic math skills
  • Knowledge in the use of basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to take direction and clearly communicate with coworkers
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (long hours and flexible shifts)
  • Excellent time management skills, proper planning and ability to meet deadlines
  • Good oral, written and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to willingly accept responsibility
  • Ability to set priorities and use good judgment
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Education

  • Current Florida State Driver's License
  • Safe driver that is comfortable pulling trailers

Physical & Environmental Factors

  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent climbing of ladders
  • Frequent physical demands requiring mobile dexterity to include bending, stooping, pulling, climbing, and reaching
  • Frequent exposure to electrical hazard and high-powered tools and machinery
  • Frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds
  • Occasional team lifting of greater than 40 pounds
  • Constant exposure to weather conditions
  • Clean driving record and background check
  • Pass drug screening
