Carrier Sales Representative / Chicago, IL
Looking for a sales career in Chicago, Illinois? Ardent could be exactly what you're looking for. As a Carrier Sales Representative, you will work in a fast-paced freight brokerage, helping move customers' inventory cost-effectively by identifying, negotiating with, and managing carrier partnerships. Building strong relationships with carriers will help grow their business and yours. The Carrier Sales Representative role at Ardent is just the beginning of a long-term career in logistics sales.

Responsibilities:
  • Make outbound calls to drivers and transportation companies to determine availability
  • Negotiate rates with shippers and carriers to secure the best possible pricing
  • Manage daily shipments by accurately documenting details in the system and communicating to ensure on-time pickup and delivery
  • Communicate proactively and honestly with customers and carriers to identify and resolve issues
  • Provide top-tier customer service
  • Develop new carrier relationships and grow existing partnerships
Skills:
  • Confident decision-making abilities
  • Ability to multitask by managing calls, emails, and messages while meeting daily goals
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and sales drive
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Prior sales experience preferred
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy sales environment
