Job description

We are seeking passionate, qualified, and knowledgeable employees to join our Archery Department at our Logan store. As a Team Lead on the Al's team, you'll help create a safe, welcoming, and professional shopping experience for every customer. You'll work closely with customers to share your expertise in archery equipment and hunting gear, helping them find the right products for their individual needs.
The ideal candidate is confident in archery equipment, bow setup, tuning, and accessories, and has strong knowledge of general hunting gear and optics. Responsibilities include assisting customers with product selection, performing archery equipment services, and maintaining a clean, organized, and professional department.
Knowledge of leading archery brands such as Hoyt, Mathews, Bear Archery, PSE, and Prime Archery is strongly preferred.
Continuing education on current products, new technology, and proper tuning techniques is expected and encouraged as part of daily operations. The Archery Technician Team Lead will help ensure every customer is treated equitably while maintaining Al's Sporting Goods Archery Department as a trusted resource and community staple for archery enthusiasts.
You'll work with top brands in the industry while enjoying employee-only discounts and exclusive vendor deals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Experience working on compound and recurve bows (1-2 years technician experience required).
  • Experience shooting compound and recurve bows (2+ years required).
  • Must have broad knowledge of the archery industry, including new product releases and legacy equipment.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be willing to learn and accept failure as a step toward success.
  • Management and leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a retail or archery pro shop environment is a plus.

Qualifications
Required
  • Passion for archery, with strong hands-on knowledge of bows and archery equipment, hunting, and the outdoor industry.
  • Hands-on experience with archery equipment, including compound and recurve bows, bow tuning, basic repairs, arrow assembly, and shooting technique.
  • Knowledge of archery brands including Hoyt, Bear, PSE, Prime, Spot Hogg, Black Gold, Easton, Gold Tip, and others.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to confidently guide and educate customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making ability.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Previous retail or technical experience is a plus.

Helpful
  • Previous customer service, management, or team lead experience.
    Knowledge of and hands-on experience with archery equipment, including compound and recurve bows, bow tuning, arrow assembly, and shooting technique.
    Understanding of hunting gear and outdoor equipment.
    Proactive, self-motivated work ethic with the ability to lead by example.
    Ability to work effectively and guide others as part of a team.
    Strong communication skills and confidence assisting customers with product selection, bow setup, and archery techniques.
