Job Summary & Responsibilities

As a Manager of Applications Engineering, you will define and orchestrate pre sales customer applications support activities such as demos, onsite evaluations, competitive H2H etc. via a global team of applications engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Execution: In coordination with Marketing and Sales, you will develop and execute the demo support plan towards realizing the annual business goals for Inspection products. You will own the projections for the range and skills of resources required and building the case for staffing the team correctly. Your ultimate responsibility will be to ensure no customer engagement for Inspection Apps is stuck without an Apps resource with the right skills and expertise.

  • Day to day coordination: You will stay on top of the technical demo/eval/H2H activities across our customer base, paying close attention to top customers' needs and driving Apps efforts to support these. You will run periodic sync meetings with regional apps leads, and occasionally with these customers to ensure that our efforts are closely aligned with customer priorities and expectations.

  • Product Development: Usage based inputs are key to keeping our portfolio closely matched to customer requirements. You will contribute to product development efforts by participating in bug/feature triage, as well as contribute to product requirement documents based on significant changes in customer needs.

  • Escalation Management: Serve as the primary global lead for resolving critical issues, showstoppers and other urgent situationss during demos, evals, and H2Hs.

  • Technical Marketing: You will support positioning Inspection products with wider audiences by helping the Applications team to create demo-reports, evaluation summaries, and competitive score card performances that capture the technical results along with customer context for these successes.

  • Team Leadership: Serve as the leader for Inspection Demo Applications team, set goals and growth objectives for the team, develop skills, awareness, capabilities and responsiveness to best support the business. Scale company-wide expertise around Inspection products through BKMs extracted across multiple demos, and other customer specific use-cases.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, Service, and Engineering, to support broader Inspection business objectives.

  • Travel: Able to travel domestically and globally - about 10-20% of times.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Optical Engineering, Robotics, or other Engineering fields associated with Semiconductor Manufacturing. Master's preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 8-10+ years in Automated Optical Inspection AOI systems, Minimum 2 years as Team Lead with direct reports, managing customer facing technical engagements. Inspection Applications Manager experience strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite. Deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: Fab Process Engineering, Inspection and Metrology, Yield Engineering, etc.

  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills, with ability to resolve high-tension high-urgency situations with an amicable and calm presence.

  • Expert knowledge of Inspection and Metrology systems and methodologies in Semiconductor industry.

  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills using data driven approaches to influence and drive decisions.

  • Strong organizational skills to stay on top of multiple projects of extreme high urgency and having close attention from several layers of management - internal and customer side.

  • Clear communications style with emphasis on pragmatic focus on outcomes.

  • Ability to thrive in high-urgency, fast-paced environments with cross-cultural teams.

Compensation & Growth

Base Salary Range:

$129,600.00 - $194,400.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
