ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement internal giving campaigns, including but not limited to employee giving campaigns and corporate donors.
  • Manage a portfolio of Individual donors that targets the exponential growth of philanthropic funds.
  • Build relationships based on credibility, trust, knowledge, and an understanding of the values and priorities of prospective and current supporters.
  • Collaborate with the advancement team to develop an annual fund strategy and establish goals to achieve a substantial increase in philanthropic contributions from individual and corporate donors each year.
  • Produce annual appeal letters and donor acknowledgement letters that target individual and corporate donors for direct mail campaign.
  • Annually expand our base of donors, with strategies to continually grow the donor pipeline over multiple years.
  • Assist in researching, cultivating, and expanding agency donor base, including corporate sponsors and individuals.
  • Diversify annual fund campaign to include online solicitation and email strategies.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Development Plan that incorporates a range of strategies including annual appeals, major donors, grants, corporate and individual appeals, social media, and special events.
  • Execute event plans to meet revenue goals.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field. Advanced degree in field related to not-for-profit management, communications or fund development preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as leader and as team member.
  • Strong partnership-building and event-planning skills.
  • Thorough understanding of components of diversified funding base. Good computer skills and knowledge of database programs.
  • Good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability through experience in issue management, public relations strategies and tactics, legislative strategies and tactics, and public marketing and promotion campaign development and execution. Proven ability to handle multiple and varied functions with success.
  • Proven ability to manage corporate resources responsibly and effectively. Good supervisory and management skills. Punctuality and reliability. Reliable transportation for frequent travel.

EXPERIENCE

  • Four to six years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Position has no unusual physical demands. May involve discomforts associated with continual use of video display terminal.
