Job description

  • Provide comprehensive consultative insurance guidance and grow local delivery of insurance services within the assigned area
  • Act as senior advisor for auto, home, life, and annuity insurance agents in the designated territory
  • Engage personnel across business lines to establish effective referral processes and meet members' holistic financial planning needs
  • Use SECU technology, marketing campaigns, lead platforms, and member branch visits to meet or exceed insurance productivity benchmarks
  • Deliver life/personal lines insurance and annuity contracts as a member-facing Insurance Specialist within SECU locations
  • Support and guide Insurance Specialists within the regional network
  • Collaborate on complex scenarios to ensure members' needs are met holistically
  • Articulate best practices and provide feedback to management and Financial Advisory Services leadership
  • Lead team discussions and present demonstrations and business development techniques
  • Train and mentor new Insurance Specialists
  • Build referral networks across all business lines
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of insurance sales and service experience, or high school diploma/GED and 7 years of insurance sales and service experience
  • Active North Carolina Life and Personal Lines or Property & Casualty licenses
  • Satisfy all continuing education requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and policyholder responsibilities
  • Extensive experience working within an Agency Management System
  • Ability to build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with carriers, specialists, and members
  • Willingness and ability to lead effective and productive interactions
  • Demonstrated success delivering insurance services effectively
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • ALMI, CIC, CFP® or other industry designation considered a plus
  • Ability to work in an SECU branch location and travel within the assigned region
  • Ability to sit, use the telephone, and use a computer for prolonged periods
