Location: Germantown, WI
Travel: Approximately 50% travel, with 95% of travel occurring locally. Most evenings are spent at home.

Ashton North is partnering with a growing industrial automation and engineering organization seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join their team in Germantown, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of industrial control systems for a variety of automation projects
- Program, integrate, troubleshoot, and commission PLC-based automation solutions
- Develop electrical schematics, control panel designs, and supporting documentation using AutoCAD Electrical
- Manage projects from initial customer requirements through startup, validation, and final implementation
- Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, providing guidance and practical solutions to manufacturing and automation challenges
- Collaborate closely with customers, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution
- Mentor and support junior engineers while helping elevate technical capabilities across the organization
- Contribute to business growth through customer relationship development and technical consultation
Qualifications
- 10+ years of controls engineering experience within industrial automation environments
- Strong PLC programming experience with the ability to develop and troubleshoot complex control systems
- Experience working with industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment, and automation technologies
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical
- Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business solutions
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in real-world manufacturing environments
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred
- Currently living in the Greater Milwaukee WI area (Sorry. local candidates only)
