Job description

Who We Are: Welcome to Noldor, we are on a mission to revolutionize how insurance data powers the program and specialty insurance marketplace. Donโ€™t let the word "insurance" fool you, insurance is a dynamic and rapidly evolving marketplace, and we are at the forefront of its transformation. At Noldor, we are building a groundbreaking platform that redefines data exchange, empowering MGAs (Managing General Agents), carriers, and reinsurers to harness data for more informed, strategic decision-making.

Since our start in 2021 at the DESCOvery venture studio, weโ€™ve been on a rollโ€”building an energetic, supportive, and driven team that's fearless about tackling some of the toughest challenges in this $5 trillion industry. We work hard, laugh harder, and believe in the impact weโ€™re making together. If you're ready to be part of a transformative journey, letโ€™s reshape this industry side by side!

About the role: Our tech stack consists of Ruby, Angular and Terraform. You are an expert (8+ years) in Ruby and/or Typscript fullstack web application development. As a Fullstack Engineer at Noldor, you will build highly scalable distributed solutions. We believe in clean code.

We are looking for an experienced Ruby Fullstack Engineer, a problem-solver who thrives in the collaborative environment of a small engineering team at a tech startup. You have experience collaborating on an enterprise architectural vision with product and senior leadership.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Craft and enhance user-facing features across the full stack
  • Forge reusable code and libraries
  • Collaborate with designers to turn UI/UX into a technical masterpiece
  • Optimize for peak performance and scalability
  • Champion collaboration with engineering, product and leadership
  • Guard quality by writing tests frequently; following engineering best practices

Who You Are:

  • You have 8+ years of experience working as a software engineer
  • You have experience working in a startup environment
  • You are experienced in Ruby and TypeScript
  • You are open to frameworks like Ruby on Rails and Angular
  • You donโ€™t panic when tackling problems and can find a productive path forward
  • You can effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
  • You have an interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows & philosophies
  • You evangelize what good engineering looks like
