Job description

Northwestern Mutual - Ontario seeks a Campus Recruiter to recruit, select, onboard and run our financial advisor internship program. In this role, the Campus Recruiter will be a member of the leadership team and collaborate closely with our College Unit Director, Managing Director, and Chief Recruitment Officer to achieve our office campus recruiting and development goals. This position will be responsible for creating and executing on sourcing and selection strategies, while building brand awareness on campus and developing deep relationships with key campus leaders.


The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic, strategic, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. Prior experience in the financial services industry is preferred but not required, and company-specific training will be provided. This position will be fast-paced, challenging, dynamic, and the work will be diverse.


**Please note that this is a 100% in-office position Monday - Friday. We will only be considering candidates who are local to the Ontario area and able to commute to the office.


ESSENTIAL DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:


Recruiting & Selection:

  • Master information and language regarding all aspects of the financial advisor internship as well as each step of the selection process
  • Administer selection profiles to candidates throughout the recruitment process
  • Work with district office leadership team to determine internship goals, along with strategies to accomplish those goals
  • Execute district office campus recruiting plan to reach activity and contract goals
  • Increase brand awareness on local campuses
  • Develop and own relationships with centers of influence on campus
  • Review all campus resumes received to determine eligibility for screening interviews
  • Conduct all on-campus and in-office screening interviews for internship candidates
  • Manage all candidates throughout the selection process
  • Master presentation material to conduct class/club talks
  • Participate in campus career fairs
  • Manage and implement campus advertising and promotions
  • Develop qualified referral sources both with campus centers of influence and in the office to achieve contract goals
  • Effectively communicate with candidates
  • Manage the transition of candidates who are offered a contract, specifically navigating and overseeing the contract, licensing, and registration process along with initial training
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of all recruiting materials & supplies
  • Develop programs and/or contests as needed to enhance recruiting results


Accountability & Tracking:

  • Maintain database of all campus recruiting & selection activity for the district office daily through the NM Talent applicant tracking software
  • Report daily and weekly activity to leadership team
  • Participate in regular (weekly, monthly, & quarterly) meetings with the leadership team


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to interact positively, succinctly, and professionally.
  • Should be proactive, able to self-manage, highly self-motivated, and in search of a long-term career.
  • Good problem-solving, independent thinking, and strong analytical abilities are necessary to successfully fulfill the duties of this position.
  • Candidate must possess ability to stay organized, be detail-oriented, and have excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to handle competing demands, use time efficiently, and prioritize appropriately.
  • College degree from a four-year institution required.
