Job Description
The Supply Chain Specialist supports Materials & Standards operations by coordinating supply chain activities, managing inventory planning, and ensuring efficient material flow across the organization. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain performance, improve processes, and support production and business objectives.
Responsibilities
Incorporate planning and change decisions to develop optimal supply chain solutions
Apply Supply Chain Management (SCM) methodologies to support coordination across the global supply chain
Analyze complex material requirements and production schedules
Verify and incorporate Bills of Material (BOM) into production planning activities
Determine and manage part number attributes
Initiate, coordinate, and authorize order releases based on system requirements and resource availability
Monitor and ensure on-time delivery performance
Document and resolve order delinquencies and schedule adherence issues
Develop and manage inventory plans while optimizing inventory levels
Analyze and disposition excess or obsolete inventory
Support audits and compliance activities related to materials management
Develop schedules for products and services and assist with proposal estimates and planning
Support continuous improvement initiatives and establish best practices for materials management and SCM processes
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supply chain operations with organizational objectives
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
5+ years of Materials and Standards experience
Experience supporting supply chain, inventory planning, or materials management operations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with Bills of Material (BOM), production schedules, and inventory control processes
Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and manage priorities effectively
Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Boeing experience strongly preferred
Experience supporting aerospace or manufacturing supply chain operations
Experience with process improvement and supply chain optimization initiatives
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree and typically 6 or more years of related work experience, Master’s degree with typically 4 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
