KAAST Machine Tools is a fast-growing machine tool and fabrication equipment manufacturer with one of the most extensive line-ups of new machinery in North America. Headquartered in the greater Philadelphia area, we are proud to support manufacturers nationwide with high-quality CNC and conventional chip-making equipment as well as a full range of fabricating equipment.
Our Chicago office, located in Schiller Park just 10 minutes from O'Hare International Airport, serves as a key hub for our service and showroom operations. We are seeking a hands-on Service Technician to join our Schiller Park, IL team. This is a full-time, in-house position based in our Chicago warehouse and showroom, with the exception of field travel for customer installations/service and major industry tradeshows. Travel typically accounts for less than 30% of the role.
Responsibilities
  • Uncrate, power-up, and fully test new machine tools; prepare inspection reports
  • Install, assemble, and repair chip-making and fabrication machinery
  • Perform customer demonstrations and provide technical support
  • Assist customers via phone and email with troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Prepare machines for shipping to end-users
  • Complete accurate service documentation, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
  • Support major industry tradeshows (IMTS, FABTECH) with demos and machine setup (occasional travel, less than 30%)
Qualifications & Experience 
  • Experience with Capital Equipment / Machine Tools (lathes, mills, grinders, saws, etc.
  • Industrial electrical (3-phase) knowledge and troubleshooting ability
  • Mechanical aptitude and previous equipment repair/installation experience
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Clear, professional communication (phone, email, in person)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
