Capital Project Manager

Location: Pacific Northwest (Relocation Assistance Available)

Industry: Advanced Manufacturing / Industrial Operations

A growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a Capital Project Manager to lead facility expansion, infrastructure, operational improvement, and capital investment projects across a complex manufacturing environment.

This is a highly visible role that will partner closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, EHS, procurement, contractors, and executive leadership to successfully execute projects from concept through startup and closeout. We're looking for a hands-on project leader who enjoys spending time in the field, driving stakeholder alignment, and delivering impactful projects that support long‑term operational growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects throughout the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, budgeting, procurement, execution, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Manage multiple concurrent capital improvement and operational enhancement projects.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, maintenance, EHS, procurement, contractors, and vendors.
  • Monitor project performance and communicate progress through KPI reporting and executive updates.
  • Manage contractor selection, vendor relationships, procurement activities, and contract execution.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards.
  • Support facility expansions, infrastructure projects, process improvements, equipment installations, and manufacturing upgrades.
  • Maintain project documentation including capital requests, project charters, schedules, change orders, risk assessments, and closeout reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution through automation, digital tools, AI‑enabled solutions, and process optimization.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and alignment across all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of project management experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, chemical processing, capital projects, or facility expansion environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from concept through commissioning and closeout.
  • Strong experience managing project budgets, schedules, procurement activities, and contractor relationships.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams and influencing stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work onsite and travel up to 50% as project requirements dictate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
  • Experience leading manufacturing plant expansions, facility upgrades, brownfield, or greenfield projects.
  • Experience supporting industrial construction or EPC projects.
  • Background in manufacturing, specialty materials, chemicals, mining, energy, pulp & paper, semiconductor, or related industrial environments.
  • Experience utilizing automation, digital transformation, AI, or advanced project management tools to improve execution and reporting.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Lead high-visibility projects that directly support organizational growth.
  • Significant interaction with executive leadership and plant leadership teams.
  • Opportunity to influence capital strategy, project execution practices, and operational improvements.
  • Collaborative culture focused on innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Long-term career growth with a stable and expanding organization.
