Job description

We are hiring a full-time Construction Project Manager in Shawnee, KS to lead ground-up construction, tenant improvement (TI), and service and maintenance projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Construction Project Manager will manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships across multiple concurrent project types. This is an on-site role based in the Kansas City metro, offering $95,000 - $110,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities - Construction Project Manager

  • Manage all phases of construction projects including ground-up builds, tenant improvements, and service/maintenance scopes from preconstruction through final closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost reports; process pay applications, change orders, and purchase orders with accuracy and timeliness
  • Serve as the primary client contact for owners, tenants, and stakeholders; lead project meetings and deliver regular updates on schedule and budget status
  • Solicit bids, qualify and award subcontractors, manage subcontractor performance and compliance, and resolve field conflicts to keep projects on track
  • Maintain complete project documentation including RFIs, submittals, punch lists, and warranties; provide internal reporting to leadership throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications - Construction Project Manager

  • 5 or more years of experience as a Project Manager with a General Contractor, including ground-up, tenant improvement, and service/maintenance project types
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedule, budget, and quality standards
  • Proficiency in Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or comparable construction project management and scheduling software
  • Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods, contract documents, plans, and specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered

Preferred Qualifications - GC Project Manager / Construction PM

  • OSHA 30 certification
  • PMP credential or equivalent project management certification
  • LEED accreditation

Physical Requirements - Construction Project Manager

  • Combination of office-based work and active jobsite visits; frequent travel to multiple project locations across the Kansas City metro region
  • Ability to walk, stand, and navigate active construction sites for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; ability to wear required PPE in field environments
  • Standard full-time schedule with overtime availability based on project demands
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for site travel
