Job description

Job Summary - Maintenance I - Kansas City, MO

Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs a variety of equipment and machinery to support manufacturing, packaging, and distribution operations. Diagnoses problems and recommends solutions.

Standard work hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Friday, 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Essential Job Functions *

  • Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems (some examples below) in a timely manner; reports other problems to Supervisor.  Typical items include repairing various electrical, vacuum, mechanical, and pneumatic systems; performing mechanical calibrations and alignments; and assembling and testing motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, and other machinery related equipment.
  • Preform general and preventative maintenance multiple production systems in and around the facility.
  • Performs mechanical calibrations and alignments during preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Applies related knowledge to test and/or modify operational machinery and control equipment.
  • Accurately completes daily maintenance reports.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment and conserves resources by using equipment and supplies to accomplish job results without waste.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures; reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor.
