Job description

Maintenance Technician

Manufacturing Department

Outline of Duties:

  • Perform as a Maintenance Associate in the assigned shop and develop abilities in areas of Maintenance that are unfamiliar in order to become multi-skilled. This may include, but is not limited to, electrical, electronic, PLC, controls, mechanical, etc.
  • Perform corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on all equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Initiate, document, and participate in company-wide Kaizen projects
  • Ability to perform maintenance tasks that will require work at a multitude of elevations in the plant
  • Active in Safety, Environmental, and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Participation in additional technical training opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Proven knowledge, skills and/or background experience with at least 2 of the following: electrical, electronic, PLC, controls, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment etc.
  • A background in Industrial Maintenance
  • Ability to successfully troubleshoot equipment using root cause analysis techniques
  • Successful completion of SIA's Maintenance Skill's assessment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Maintenance or related degree (may substitute for experience) 
  • Experience as a multi-skilled Maintenance Associate in electrical, electronic, PLC, controls, mechanical, etc.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) with the ability to troubleshoot, alter and/or create PLC programs
  • Documented completion of training in electrical, electronic, mechanical, or PLC areas
  • Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing environment
  • Experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment
  • Experience in Robotics and/or Automated Manufacturing environment
