Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. We are highly focused and, among other efforts, currently operate a dozen active test and/or training ranges for the Army, Air Force and Navy. Our 35-year heritage is founded on supporting complex and diverse DoD programs and we've developed a standout reputation for providing the highest quality services, superior workmanship and cost-effective results while achieving complete customer satisfaction.


We are currently seeking to hire an Electronics Technician I (ET I) for the flat ranges at our site at Melrose Air Force Range near Clovis, NM. This Primary Training Range (PTR) accommodates multiple types of air-to-surface, surface to air, and ground training and is 70,010 acres and contains target arrays, Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) sites, landing zones, dudded and inert impact areas, threat simulators, weapons scoring systems, and provides Service Class A and C range capabilities. We support DoD and non-interfering civilian agency training requirements, providing operations and maintenance to meet war-fighter training and readiness requirements. We provide support for facility maintenance, aerial gunnery and bombing ranges, ground training ranges, MOUT sites, electronics / technology, scheduling, wildland fire management, paramedic, and Situational Force (SITFOR), to include all operations, maintenance and support (OM&S). Our site consists of an Electronic Warfare Range (EWR), air and ground ranges, ground training facilities, and administrative facilities.


The ET I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy.


Duties include (but may not be limited to):

  • Performing systems maintenance and operations of range systems and facilities.
  • Replacing components and wiring circuits.
  • Repairing simple electronic equipment.
  • Conducting test readings using common instruments such as digital millimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.

Work Conditions:

  • Will climb ladders and work in elevated areas and confined spaces.
  • Will work on high-voltage and radio frequency circuits.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Job demands will require physical dexterity and flexibility.
  • Must be physically able to sit, stand, kneel and climb.
  • Overtime required at times to support operations.

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Associates degree in electronics field or certificate of completion from an accredited Technical school, or equivalent military technical training.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in an electronics tech position (preferably with DoD range systems).
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Ability to understand the basic operation of a Windows-based PC, and be able to document maintenance actions.
  • Experience with the following range systems is a plus: MST-T1A / MUTES; MST-T1(V) / Mini-MUTES and several styles of Visual/IR targets.
  • Experience with ground radar of any type, satellite tracking/radio and antenna positioning systems, and work with high power transmitters using TWTs or magnetrons.
  • All candidates will be required to pass a consumer report and/or consumer investigation to include SSN, Driver Record and Criminal Background Investigation.
  • Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
