Job description

Overview

Mural Group is partnering with a well-established heavy industrial manufacturer to hire a Maintenance Supervisor for its Dunkirk, NY operation. This role is responsible for leading front-line maintenance teams in a demanding manufacturing environment where equipment reliability, safety, and production uptime are critical. The successful candidate will provide daily leadership to maintenance personnel, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities, and drive continuous improvement efforts across the facility.


Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership

  • Provide daily supervision and direction to maintenance technicians
  • Assign and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Coordinate maintenance work with operations to minimize downtime
  • Support technician development through training and coaching

Reliability & Troubleshooting

  • Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Support reliability and uptime initiatives across the facility

Planning & Execution

  • Order repair materials and spare parts as needed
  • Assist with shutdown planning and maintenance scheduling
  • Support capital projects and infrastructure upgrades
  • Review equipment history and recommend repair or replacement strategies

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Promote strong housekeeping and 5S practices throughout the department
  • Maintain equipment and facilities in a safe and reliable operating condition
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts within maintenance operations


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Experience supporting industrial equipment, utilities, and production systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in steel, metals, foundry, forging, mining, paper, cement, chemical, or other heavy industrial environments
  • Experience with high-voltage distribution systems
  • Experience with PLCs, drives, and industrial controls
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance practices
