Schedule & Hours:
We're seeking part-time and full-time Maintenance Engineers to cover the following shifts:
  • Part-time: 3 shifts per week alternating Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Saturday, Sunday, Monday - Noon-8:00pm.
  • Full-time: 5 shifts a week, 9am-5pm does include weekends.

Core Responsibilities
  • General maintenance and upkeep responsibilities including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, light carpentry and painting at a boutique luxury hotel
  • Responds to open work orders and resolves requests in a timely manner to meet guest expectations, comfort and safety
  • Assists in scheduling and completing preventive maintenance for buildings and building equipment
  • Hands-on work of all building repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the facility with special attention to more involved operations or projects
  • Prepares for events and large gatherings to ensure guest safety, satisfaction and comfort
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Walks property at regular intervals (daily) to ensure that the property is clean and orderly and in good maintenance condition
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Other tasks as assigned including: plumbing, blueprint, electrical, city codes, environmental initiative and tracking
  • Assists in maintaining sufficient maintenance supply stock
  • Assists in contracting outside vendors and taking bids for special projects or extensive maintenance
  • Obtains approvals for expenditures and maintains budgets
  • Maintains exterior grounds and interior common areas in quality, presentable condition. This will include but is not limited to the following:
    • Picks up trash and keep common areas neat
    • Sweeps walks and curbs
    • Waters lawn, trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds
    • Performs year-round grounds maintenance, including snow and ice removal
  • Completes additional duties as assigned

Experience and Skills
Education & Experience
  • 1-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related carpentry/construction. Ideally in hospitality or a related industry
  • Special boilers license or willingness to obtain one, if applicable
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO), if applicable

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment
  • Current and valid driver's license required. Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) and have a safe driving record, if applicable

  • Office hours may vary due to the specific needs of the portfolio.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud
  • Frequent exposure to the outdoors is common, including wind, snow/ice, and rain

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
  • Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the property and office, and necessity varies from day to day.
  • Requires grasping, writing, sitting, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

ADDITIONAL SCREENING REQUIREMENTS
  • Must successfully meet criminal background screening requirements for position.
