Job description

Role Summary:
The Maintenance Technician II repairs systems and components, troubleshoots, inspects, and completes service requests and preventative maintenance work orders in an efficient and timely manner under supervision of the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.
Scope of the Position:
The Maintenance Technician II will be located at the Madison, AL site, but will also support the Huntsville, AL location as needed.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day and long-term maintenance of Wilson Lumber equipment.
  • Maintain proper scheduling of assigned duties and obtain materials to perform cost effective maintenance and repair Activity.
  • Report to Facility Manager items affecting (or potentially affecting) proper and safe operation of equipment.
  • Help maintain and monitor preventative maintenance program. Maintain proper documentation of all assigned maintenance policies and procedures. Maintain the proper electronic recordkeeping of maintenance orders.
  • Execute other responsibilities as requested by Facilities & Maintenance Manager and Logistics Manager.

Position Qualifications:
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English
  • Must be proficient in basic computer skills
  • Must have excellent mechanical skills
  • Be self-motivated
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with general maintenance and safety procedures including but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Must have working experience in facilities maintenance, to include but not limited to, painting, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  • Valid driver's license required for occasional parts and supply pickups

Education and Experience:
  • Associates Degree preferred
  • Two years maintenance related experience
  • Knowledge in Mechanical, HVAC, Carpentry, Welding, PLC driven equipment and Electrical

Physical Requirements:
  • Sit, Stand, Walk, Reach frequently
  • Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently
  • Climb ladders and lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Adapt to various environments including production

You will be expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
