What You'll Do:

As a Mold Maintenance Apprentice, you'll be part of our Mission team located in Mission, TX. You'll get to:

  • Remove and install molds in accordance with safety guidelines using cranes, hoists, pallet jacks, tool carts and forklifts.
  • Connect required water lines, knockout bars, hydraulic/air lines, hot runner controllers.
  • Install end-of-arm tooling (EOAT).
  • Participate in SMED activities and contribute ideas for continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate mold and tool locations.
  • Use E-maint for each job as required.
  • Prepare molds for production runs.
  • Fabricate hoses and manifolds as needed.
  • Troubleshooting set up-related issues to support efficient production startup
  • Verify and address leaks during mold set up and operation.
  • Maintain the tools and equipment required to perform mold changes.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines, clean molds, and address mechanical or operational defects.
  • Follow and support the tool schedule plan to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment in line with 5S principles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs, which may include assisting the maintenance, tooling or process department.

  • Minimum of one year of hands-on experience on injection molding environment.
  • Familiarity with connecting and troubleshooting water, hydraulic, and air lines, as well as hot runner controllers and related equipment.
  • Experience using material handling equipment and tools such as cranes, hoists, pallet jacks, and tool carts preferred.
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting and understanding electrical and electronic diagrams and schematics.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Flexible schedule; ability to rotate shifts (day or night) and work overtime as needed.
