Overview

Payroll Specialist

Location: One Union Place, Hartford, CT

Modalitly: Hybrid

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000

Propark is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Systems Specialist to join our growing team. Reporting to the Payroll Systems Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining and optimizing our payroll systems while ensuring accuracy and compliance, along with processing end-to-end payroll cycles from start to finish.

You'll thrive in this role if you're motivated, proactive, and customer-service oriented, with deep hands-on expertise in payroll systems. Experience with UKG Ready Mainframe is required; experience with ADP Workforce Now is an added plus.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

System Administration & Configuration

· Perform updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting within the UKG system, with a focus on payroll profiles and calculations.

· Build calculation rules, perform system corrections, and conduct testing to ensure accuracy and compliance.

· Support system implementations and acquisitions.

Payroll Processing

· Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for 600+ employees.

· Run weekly and monthly payroll processes and troubleshooting issues that arise.

· Process wage increases and calculates retro pay as needed.

· Ensure all transactional processes comply with established policies and procedures.

Auditing & Reporting

· Audit employee payroll data for accuracy and integrity.

· Prepare payroll reports for audits and regulatory compliance.

· Assist in preparing accounting reports.

· Support benefit-related payroll projects, withholdings, and reporting.

Team Support

· Collaborate with the payroll team to maintain compliant, efficient processes.

· Serve as a backup for payroll department responsibilities and processes as needed.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

Required

· Recent experience (within the last three years) with UKG Ready Mainframe.

· 5+ years of payroll experience.

· Understanding of and experience with union CBAs (Collective Bargaining Agreements).

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing, multi-company environment.

Preferred

· Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
