SALARY: The salary range for this position is $85,524.22 to $138,623.68 for Schedule A, and $85,524.22 to $131,692.50 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule B.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 3 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Example of Duties
  • Install and configure IBM z/OS operating systems and program products.
  • Apply system maintenance, program temporary fixes (PTFs), and version upgrades using SMP/E.
  • Monitor system health, capacity, and performance using tools like RMF, SMF, and SDSF.
  • Manage initialization parameters, libraries, and initial program load (IPL) processes.
  • Troubleshoot complex system dumps, abends, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Support data recovery, backup processes, and disaster recovery planning

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with the z/OS operating system, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF.
  • Proficient use of SMP/E for software installation and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with subsystems and security tools like JES2/JES3, RACF, and UNIX System Services (USS).
  • Experience with multi-LPAR or Parallel Sysplex environments.
  • Knowledge of vendor software products from IBM, Broadcom, or BMC.
  • Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills for high-availability

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and five years of professional experience, two years of which shall have included experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting information technology systems and services in the mainframe, server, and network environments. May include analyzing and resolving complex technical problems; generating and testing applications code; performing database administration; administering data security; operating enterprise computer systems; contingency planning, implementing telecommunications facilities; and developing and/or conducting training on IT systems, concepts, applications, policies, or security.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above -OR- a law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above.
