Job description

Job Title: Mainframe Technical Lead/Advisor Key Technology: COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, IMS Job Responsibilities:
  • Partner with client delivery lead, product owners to review requirements, associated user stories and determine a roadmap for delivery.
  • Partner with Solution Architects to review and validate a solution’s feasibility; also make solution recommendations.
  • Review and analyze program specifications to determine the effort needed to make changes.
  • Lead the source code and data migration activities for projects identified in scope.
  • Lead other individuals on the team to start a task and track progress. Ensure that testing procedures, test cases, data, and validation steps are implemented and followed correctly.
  • Analyze and develop software in COBOL, CICS, JCL and IMS changes required for the project and if needed, make code changes, test, and support the team to meet delivery timelines.
  • Ensure quality of deliverables by participating in peer group conducting application design and code reviews.
  • Participate in analysis and resolution of critical production issues.
  • Will be involved in all phases of Agile SDLC.
Skills and Experience Required: Required:
  • 10+ years of experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, IMS
  • 10+ years of experience designing, programming, and architecture in a mainframe environment.
  • 10+ years of experience with RMDS/EXPEDITER/File-Aid for IMS/DB2
  • 2+ years of experience with leading a team.
  • Strong Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in Mainframe Modernization and Migration projects
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work well with other groups in an enterprise wide, large-scale matrix environment.
  • Experienced in Agile methodology.
Desired:
  • Strong Communications Skills
  • Knowledge of JSON and Cloud technologies are a plus Banking domain experience.
  • Good to have experience in AWS, Azure or related cloud platform.
