Job Description:
The Right of Way Agent is technical services work involving entry level aspects of land acquisition for highway right-of-way purposes.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Contacting property owners and conducting property negotiations,
  • Checking deeds and related records for information,
  • Locating physical improvements and property boundaries, and
  • Assisting in the preparation of necessary documents.

Knowledge of real estate valuation practices and procedures as well as the ability to read highway, bridge and multi-modal construction plans are preferred.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
An Associates degree in a related field OR an equivalent combination of training, experience, and education, providing a knowledge of real estate negotiations, title examinations, surveying, estimating, appraising, and evaluation work.
