As a Mail Associate, you will:
  • Receive, record, sort, process, and distribute incoming and outgoing campus mail, parcels, and related material in support of daily operational services.
  • Provide customer service for mail services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for mail handling.
  • Resolve routine service and delivery issues by working with various stakeholders.
  • Support document handling, document disposal, and related operational service activities.
  • Process outgoing shipments and coordinate with service providers to support timely and accurate delivery.
  • Provide guidance, training, and day-to-day support to team members and student workers as needed.
  • Sort and prepare bulk mailings.
  • Provide operational support for production and finishing equipment.
  • Assist with equipment and inventory maintenance.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent experience.
  • 6 months experience providing customer service in a service, office, retail, warehouse, or other operational environment.
  • Experience supporting daily operational tasks.
  • Ability to handle, process, and distribute materials.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to use basic office technology and operational equipment related to the work.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide guidance and training to others.
  • Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ months of experience handling, moving, and/or processing materials.
  • Experience in mail services, delivery services, shipping and receiving, or in a centralized mailroom.
  • Experience providing day-to-day guidance or training to others.
  • Familiarity of building locations on the University Nebraska-Lincoln City and East campuses.
  • Knowledge of document handling and document disposal.
  • Ability to follow bulk mailing procedures.
  • Ability to provide support for production and finishing equipment.
  • Ability to assist with inventory and equipment maintenance.
