Job Title: Mail Delivery Clerk Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Warehouse Operations Manager Pay Grade: Clerical/Paraprofessional Employee
Pay Grade 3
Dept./School: Warehouse Operations: Initiated Date: October 4, 2021
District Primary Purpose: To assist and promote La Joya ISD in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement.
Department Primary Purpose: Assist the Warehouse Operations and Asset Management Department in the efficient processing and distribution of orders.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma/GED
Valid Texas Driver's License
Forklift Certificate
Knowledge/Skills:
Correct English skills, spelling, punctuation, and report writing techniques, data entry, filing system, and record keeping principles and procedures.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Deliver supplies, materials and equipment to campuses and departments.
  2. Deliver mail to campuses and departments. Process mail and packages to and from campuses, departments and administration offices.
  3. Assist with receiving and distribution functions in central warehouse and asset management.
  4. Stock merchandise in central warehouse.
  5. Report service and maintenance needs of vehicles used in the warehouse and schedule appropriate maintenance work.
  6. Operate forklift.
  7. Assist with annual physical inventory preparation.
  8. Secure and safeguard supplies and equipment against theft and damages.
  9. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as may be appropriate and expected of this position.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written in English and Spanish); maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Ability to frequently lift and carry packages in excess of forty (40) pounds. Drive and operate forklift. Strenuous walking, standing/climbing, may be subjected to adverse and hazardous working conditions exposure to dust, toxic chemicals and materials, slippery or uneven walking surfaces. Work outdoors in varied climate conditions. Sometimes work alone.
