Job description

Under general supervision, performs magnetic resonance imaging studies using a magnetic resonance imaging device, which includes preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, and performing computer processing and displaying images. Assists in developing protocol for patient studies. Performs quality control procedures on equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
Must maintain the required hours of continued education.
Healthcare Provider certification required.
(BCLS) Two (2) years of experience in Radiography is recommended but not mandatory.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current certification with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (MRI) preferred.
MRI board certification (ARRT) (MR) must be achieved within 12 months of the date of hire if:
- A registered Radiographer (ARRT)(R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- A registered Sonographer (ARDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- A registered Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT) (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or board certified (NMTCB) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
Failure to obtain MRI registry within the designated time frame will result in termination of the Magnetic Resonance Technologist position.
