YMCA Camp Carteris a beautiful 360-acre year-round summer camp located right in the heart of Fort Worth, TX. At camp, we offer 11 weeks of care that runs from Tuesday, May 26th through Friday, August 7th with an exciting variety of camp options to please every kind of camper at every age! Our traditional multi-activity camp provides options like STEM, arts, horseback riding, swimming, boating, fishing, and more! Position Summary
The Archery Program Instructor is a dynamic, hands-on role at YMCA Camp Carter, responsible for leading safe, engaging, and high-quality archery programming throughout the year. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional outdoor experiences during summer camp and supporting programs during the school year through outdoor education, retreats, and special events.
During the summer season, the Archery Instructor serves as a full-time (40 hours/week) program leader, facilitating daily archery activities for campers and contributing to the overall camp experience. In the off-season, this role transitions to a part-time position supporting group programs, environmental education field trips, and weekend retreats.
This position requires flexibility to work outdoors in varying conditions and a willingness to support the broader camp operation as needed. The Archery Instructor is a vital member of the Camp Carter team and helps ensure every participant has a safe, memorable, and mission-driven experience.

Reporting Structure
The Archery Program Instructor reports to the Program Director of Day Camp & Outdoor Education and collaborates with full-time and seasonal program staff.

Seasonal Expectations

  • Support outdoor education field trips, retreats, and special events
  • Flexible scheduling, including some weekends

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in archery instruction, outdoor recreation, or youth programming preferred
  • Ability to obtain or willingness to complete archery/range safety certification (training may be provided)
  • Experience working with youth in a camp, school, or recreational setting is a plus
  • Strong communication and group management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be dependable, energetic, and mission-focused

Compensation
  • Pay: $15/hour (part-time, year-round)
