Inside Technical Sales Representative

Overview:
The Inside Technical Sales Representative is responsible for: growing GAI’s presence within the assigned accounts; developing key relationships with technology and procurement leaders within the assigned accounts in order to present the company’s products and solutions; developing relationships with key OEM partners within the account set and partner for success; and meeting growth objectives within assigned accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Work hand in hand with Senior Account Manager to develop and execute account strategies.
  2. Mentor Inside Account Executives I and Sales Support I/II
  3. Present and sell company data center/enterprise products and services to assigned accounts.
  4. Understand key OEM registration programs and execute on them as well as track them.
  5. Understand current account competitive landscape.
  6. Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
  7. Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field sales and trade show activity.
  8. Build relationships with Key OEM teams, understand their priorities.
  9. Set appointments with key customers and OEM’s for Field partner.
  10. Identify and contact sales prospects within the assigned accounts.
  11. Prepare presentations, proposals, quotes, and sales contracts.
  12. Process orders and provide status updates.
  13. Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  14. Establish and maintain current and potential customer relationships.
  15. Take the ownership of certain customer and have primary relationship responsibility.
  16. Identify and resolve client concerns.
  17. Prepare a variety of status reports, including weekly sales activity, pipeline, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
  18. Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback appropriate company staff.
  19. Coordinate with company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
  20. Keep company leadership informed of all important account activity and opportunities.
  21. Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
  22. Follow-up for collection of payment if required.
  23. Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services.
  24. Other duties as assigned.
Supervision: Vice President of Sales and Operations
Qualifications/Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
• In Depth knowledge or the technology products common to the Federal Government IT marketplace.
• Proven history of overachievement of sales objectives and high income earnings
• Knowledge of the Federal Government Technology marketplace and its associated products, services and unique regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Education: College degree preferred.
Experience: 4-6 years of sales experience with focus in data center solutions, with 2 years Federal Government IT marketplace
*Experience and Education can be substituted for each other at the hiring manager’s discretion
Interpersonal/Teamwork:
  • Must work cooperatively with Senior Account Managers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Oral and Written Communication:
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve client concerns
Integrity/Honesty: Must act ethically and with integrity and honesty at all times
Influencing/negotiating: Ability to persuade and influence others.
Other Requirements:
Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
