Job description

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, TEC has 30+ locations from Seattle to San Diego to the Midwest, serving thousands of customers across Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.

We offer a large and desirable inventory of new Mack and Volvo heavy-duty trucks and all makes of used trucks. Our full-service line-up also features quality parts, state-of-the-art service, collision centers and fuel, leasing/rental, financing, and insurance. Our locations are authorized service centers for Mack, Volvo, Cummins, Meritor, Eaton and Fuller warranties. TEC truly offers the convenience of one-stop shopping for all trucking-related needs.


The Leasing Foreman is responsible for efficiently running the daily activity on the service shop floor.  They communicate many times a day with customers and technicians to build a daily workload and assign work orders to the appropriate technician.  They intimately understand the technical capability of each truck technician and assign work to leverage their strengths.  They often field work orders from walk-ins and requests over the phone when the service advisor is busy. 

The Leasing Foreman can quickly adapt to shifting priorities balancing the needs of multiple customers, sales reps and managers.  They conduct daily shift huddles to communicate important information and conduct shift transfer meetings to ensure priorities and commitments from the previous shift are completed.  The working foreman builds loyal clientele and employees by maintaining the highest standards.  They also complete maintenance and repairs on trucks as needed.  On average, the leasing foreman repairs trucks 50% to 60% of their shift and manages the shop for the rest of the shift.


  • Coordinate prompt, high quality repairs for our portfolio of rental, lease and contract maintenance vehicles.
  • Ensure the shop meets or exceeds customer requested return date.
  • Quickly and accurately communicate with customers for billing events, unplanned service disruption, and problem resolution.
  • Greets all customer employees with enthusiasm. Maintains appropriate eye contact, tone of voice, and professionalism.  Is polite and communicates frequently to ensure the customers’ needs are met.
  • When a customer request cannot be met, offers viable alternatives to solving the request. Communicates limitations openly so the customer can plan accordingly and refrains from exposing customers to internal issues that prevent immediate resolution to the requests.
  • Seeks a good balance of surpassing customer expectations and controlling cost.
  • Train and develop engaged truck technicians with a priority placed on clarity of expectations.
  • Conduct consistent audits of PM inspections and other important repairs for quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain the knowledge and expertise required to trouble shoot difficult repairs with technicians.
  • Train and develop technicians by conducting repair demonstrations or supervised repair or diagnosis of jobs beyond the technician’s current skill set.
  • Manage and take accountability for all day-to-day operations of shop floor.
  • Assign work orders to the appropriate technician, balancing the skill of the technician, the time of repair, commitments to customers, and efficiency of the shop.
  • Schedule work with customers for preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate and respond to customer breakdowns
  • Open, update, and close work orders
  • Receive parts and apply parts to work orders.
  • On a daily basis, communicate successes and setbacks on the floor to the service and lease manager.
  • Ensure technicians follow the warranty process for each OEM to maximize repair cost recovery.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Diesel Technology program completion preferred.
  • Previous leadership/supervisor experience preferred
  • 2+ years as a master level technician
  • 5+ years as a technician
  • Strong knowledge of shop operations and workflow.
  • Expert knowledge of truck repair standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor (including ability to maintain composure in stressful situations) and excellent customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to appropriately supervise and motivate technician staff; ability to effectively train and coach varying levels of team member abilities.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems and make decisions independently using sound judgment.
  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred

The base pay range for this position is $34.91 to $43.64.
