MANUAL MACHINIST

BP Aero

Irving, Texas, USA

Position Type: Permanent Full Time Hourly Direct

Shift: 1st and 2nd

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate manual equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to understand project specifications.
  • Tool Selection: Determine appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for each job.
  • Quality Control: Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet strict quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on machinery and equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineers and other team members to resolve production issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Safety: Ensure adherence to all safety standards and company procedures while working with machinery.

Duties

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Setting up and operating machine tools to cut, shape, and finish materials to exact specifications.
  • Using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and micrometers, to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
  • Monitoring the production process and making real-time adjustments to machine settings.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.

Minimum QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
