Job description

Machine Operator – Building Materials Manufacturing

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $18-20 per hour, based on experience

Shift: 1st / 2nd / 3rd Shift Available

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Machine Operator will operate and monitor production equipment used to manufacture building materials while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

The ideal candidate has previous machine operation or manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor manufacturing machinery used to produce building materials
  • Set up machines according to established production procedures and specifications
  • Load raw materials and components into production equipment
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to maintain consistent production
  • Inspect finished products for quality, dimensions, appearance, and defects
  • Perform basic troubleshooting when machines experience jams, faults, or other issues
  • Make minor machine adjustments and notify maintenance of equipment problems when necessary
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment as required
  • Follow production schedules and meet established productivity goals
  • Complete production paperwork, quality checks, and machine documentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies
  • Properly handle and move raw materials and finished building products
  • Work with team members to keep production running efficiently
  • Perform other production duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience in building materials, plastics, wood products, concrete, or similar manufacturing is a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with machinery
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to identify quality issues and make appropriate adjustments
  • Comfortable using hand tools and basic measuring equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good attendance and dependable work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new machines and production processes
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and lift
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, dust, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Must be able to wear required PPE
  • Ability to safely perform repetitive production tasks
