Position Overview 
As a Machinist, you will set up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery to produce precision components for highly technical applications. This role requires expertise in G-code, CAM software, GD&T, machining processes, and inprocess inspection. You will support firstarticle production, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvements. 

Location 
On-site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee 

Your Day-to-Day as a Machinist 
• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, drills, grinders, and related equipment. 
• Install workholding equipment, tooling, and input tool offsets and compensations. 
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and 3D models. 
• Apply GD&T for precision manufacturing and inspection. 
• Utilize G-code at the controller and CAM (Mastercam) for new part setups and firstarticle runs. 
• Select appropriate tooling based on materials and tolerances. 
• Document setup sheets including tooling, offsets, feeds/speeds, and fixture positions. 
• Perform firstarticle machining and adjust offsets to meet tolerance. 
• Conduct inprocess inspections and maintain dimensional accuracy. 
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues. 
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. 
• Support process optimization and continuous improvement with team members. 

Required Qualifications 
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate a plus. 
• Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience. 
• Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measurement instruments. 
• Experience with Fanuc or Siemens CNC controls. 
• CAM software experience (Mastercam preferred). 
• Strong attention to detail and quality. 
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills. 
• Must be a U.S. citizen. 
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE or DOD security clearance; active clearance preferred. 

Preferred Qualifications 
• Additional training in CNC machining or advanced manufacturing. 
• Experience performing firstarticle inspections.

Pay: $$25.96 - $$39.42

The starting hourly rate for this position in Tennessee (US-TN)  at the start of employment is expected to be between $$25.96  and $$39.42  per hour.  The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
